Here’s a job with a wide range of roles. Churches, ancient monuments and listed buildings all have features such as spires, turrets and chimneys which require the specialist height access provided by the steeplejack. If you like the idea of scaling new heights, this could be the job for you. Steeplejacks usually work in pairs. Once in position, the work will include inspections, testing and reporting, and repair works. This could range from coatings, re-pointing, and masonry repairs to partial demolition. You could even get involved in repairing and maintaining lightning conductors. Traditional and modern methods to achieve access are used, and full training is provided.
