CAGE (Greater Nottingham) visited Hill Wood Holt 12th May 2010
20 May 2010, Hill Holt Wood started life over 300 years ago and now, in the 21st Century, Hill Holt Wood is a thriving community social enterprise project with visitors from all over Europe
Hill Holt Wood was purchased in 1995 by Nigel and Karen Lowthrop. It was in very poor condition, but in 1997 a management committee was established as a link between the owners and the surrounding community. In time, a business was established in the wood based on training.
The mission of the business is to
· Maintain our ancient woodland for use by the public
· Teach and develop young people to help them realise their potential
· Create products and services valuable to the community
· Promote the cause of environmentalism and sustainability
The session is being Sponsored by RGMS (Ron Glen Management Services) and is FREE to Members of CAGE Greater Nottingham, Members of CAGE North Notts, and Associates of the Notts Construction Forum (NCF). Also, you may bring a partner, colleague or friends who may be particularly interested in such a visit.

Note that we have been advised NOT to use the Sat Nav with Post Code as it takes you elsewhere than the entrance to the wood!
In addition to gaining an overview about the Project, we shall be taking a look at any specific energy saving devices and eco friendly assets of the buildings.
