New Coordinator for the North West

23 February 2010, It is all change for heritage in the North West with the appointment of Kay Leech to the role of North West Heritage Skills Co-ordinator from 1st February. Kay will continue to take forward the work that Heather Emery started on developing the Regional Skills Action Plan and evaluating current heritage skills in the North West.

Kay will bring a different perspective to the work of group with her strong education and training background, having previously worked as Education Manager for ConstructionSkills, and latterly as Group Training Officer for the Northamptonshire Construction Training Group.

Although Kay has just back moved to the area from Northampton, she will be a familiar face to many people in the region as six of the years that she worked for ConstructionSkills were based in the North West.

Kay will be based at the Centre for Construction Innovation in Manchester, which co-funds the National Heritage HTA North West initiative with English Heritage, and is attached to Salford University.

The NW is also pleased to announce the launch of a new National Skills Academy for Construction project at Lomeshaye Bridge Mill, Nelson under the auspices of the North West Heritage Trust.
